I'm WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell. Some good news for you. Rain chances continue to trend a little bit lower on Saturday, not down to zero. You've just got to keep in mind that these storms and showers are going to be very scattered. In the morning, we may see a little bit of an uptick in activity late morning around 10 a.m. We go up to a 40% chance for rain. It would be unlikely though that there would be any lightning in the activity in the morning. And then 3 to about 6 o'clock looks like our best. Window for some of those scattered thunderstorms, and those could have some lightning mixed in. But again, it's a 40% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday, not a 100% chance. Here comes the system. It will arrive in the form of a cold front. It's a good idea to have your WREL weather app with you. That way, if you see any dark clouds in the distance, you can open up the dual Doppler 5000. These are going to be very scattered in terms of the location. In the morning, we may have some leftover rain from The storms that roll through the mountains overnight and some of the models are showing that around 10:11 a.m. for the triangle. Once we get to the afternoon, here come those thunderstorms. They'll be scattered as they push through along the front, and then high pressure builds in behind our cold front, leading to a gorgeous, gorgeous day on Sunday. 74 degrees the high, mostly sunny, and that northeast wind that wraps around high pressure due to the clockwise flow is going to allow for. Some drier air to move back in. It's going to have that nice crisp feel to it, so the humidity is going down, and you'll get to enjoy a stretch of that nice weather here pretty soon. 83, the high on Saturday in Raleigh, 86 in Fayetteville, 84 in Southern Pines, 81 in Roxborough. Once we get to Sunday, we will see a temperature drop of course behind the front. 72 in Roxboro, 73 in Rocky Mount and Goldsboro, 74 in Durham and Raleigh in 77. Fayetteville. Beautiful weather Sunday and then it repeats Monday and Tuesday. It'll be a bit warmer during the afternoons those days, but the humidity stays low, and overall it's just going to have a really nice feel to the weather. It's also going to be dry for 3 days in a row, so enjoy Sunday through Tuesday. Next week we're going to heat up after that. We go from 49 Monday morning all the way up into the 90s by the middle of next week, and that will come with additional scattered storm chances.

State troopers are at the scene of a deadly crash Thursday in Rockingham County. County officials did not say how many people were killed, but did say it involved "fatalities."
