Flamingo Webcam
The Caribbean Flamingo webcam is back!
Our flamingo flock is out on view in the Walled Garden, skimming for algae in their lagoon area. Should there be bad windy weather, they will go into shelter for their protection.
The flock seem keen to breed so keep your fingers crossed for good news this summer!
The previous successful hatching was Derek in 2019 who was hand-reared by Keeper Becky Waite. You can see the full diary of what happened HERE.
Help support our flock of Caribbean Flamingos
If you would like to make a donation towards the care and food for our flock of Caribbean flamingos, we would be extremely grateful. Thank you xx
DEREK was our first ever Caribbean Flamingo chick and hatched back in 2019.
Derek was hand-reared by Keeper Becky Waite with the help of the rest of the Keeper team.
We had to wait until dna analysis of the egg shell before we knew if Derek (the name Becky gave the chick initially) was male or female. We got so used to ‘Derek’, that when we got confirmation she was female we decided to keep the name.
